On August 16, 2023, the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) had the privilege of hosting 27 distinguished leaders as part of the 2023 Leadership Federal Executive Board (FEB) program.

The Leadership FEB program plays a vital role in introducing leaders to various federal agencies across Oklahoma. This is achieved through a series of management briefings, agency tours, and interactive activities that are designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities of these federal entities.

During their visit to the Aeronautical Center, the FEB Leadership group received a comprehensive overview briefing, and had the opportunity to engage with some of the Aeronautical Center leaders during tours of several key facilities including: the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), FAA Academy, Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI), Flight Research & Analysis, and the FAA Logistics Center.

What made this visit truly special were the immersive experiences provided to the participants. During their tours, they had the chance to enjoy:

1. Tower Simulation Experience: Participants gained first-hand insights into air traffic control through a tower simulation experience.
2. Aircraft Accident Investigations: They learned the fundamentals of aircraft accident investigations, highlighting the Center’s commitment to safety and expertise in this critical area.
3. Evacuation from the FlexSim: A hands-on experience in performing an evacuation of the FlexSim showcased the Center’s dedication to preparedness and emergency response.

The visit to the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center was just one part of a broader program for the FEB Leadership group. Over the course of their program, they will interact with seven federal agencies, gaining a multi-faceted perspective of the federal government’s operations and functions.

The Center is incredibly proud to have been one of the agencies chosen for this program, as it reflects the significance and reputation the MMAC holds within the federal community. It also underscores the commitment to openness and transparency in sharing expertise and operations with federal partners.
