True Sky Foundations Swings Into Action With Annual Fundraiser
Vol.8 Issue 6
True Sky Foundation Open Golf Tournament

For many years, Golf Tournaments have been a great way to raise funds for charity. They bring serious golfers and serious philanthropists together for a cause, and they can be absolute game-changers for nonprofits.

Last year, True Sky Credit Union established a Foundation with the goal of enriching nearby communities, empowering families, and serving people with physical and financial needs. As a great way to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), an Open Golf Tournament was held at Lincoln Golf Course in Oklahoma City, where $50,000.00 was raised and given to CMN!

This year, on August 8, 2022 the True Sky Foundation hosted another golf tournament, which was held at Oak Tree Golf and Country Club in Edmond, Oklahoma. The event was a complete success, and the tournament maxed out on the number of the teams that could be accepted for it.

2022 Children’s Miracle Child

Back by popular demand, as an additional way to raise money for charity, a helicopter hovered over the green and dropped hundreds of numbered golf balls which were paid for by participants in the contest. The ball that was closest to the hole won a monetary prize.

Though the day was hot (91-degrees with a few clouds) the weather did not deter the generosity of the golfers. In spite of the hot temperatures, everyone enjoyed themselves and it was all for a good cause.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will again be provided to the Children’s Miracle Network, helping to bring health and well-being to children through philanthropic and volunteer support, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Last year alone, these incredible partners had 225,000 encounters with children, families, and caregivers. Funds from this Golf Tournament will help continue the good work into the future.

The total net amount raised has not yet been tallied, as donations are still coming in! The True Sky Foundation is grateful for all the generous vendors and volunteers, as well as all the golfers who helped make this year’s event a success!
