In a new report released by the Greater Oklahoma Chamber and Region Track, the impact of the region’s aerospace industry has grown significantly in the past 5 years (showing production of $11.6B in the output of goods and services for last year). The Aeronautical Center was proud to be featured in the Chamber’s VeloCity with an article regarding the Center’s Enterprise Services Center -expanding its financial services to include the Office of Personnel Management.
We are also delighted to have updated and extended a 10-year inter-agency agreement with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection for logistics, engineering, maintenance, repair, overhaul and training. The Office of Facility Management is also gaining attention with their use of ARCHIBUS. It is an integrated workplace management system that is capturing the attention of users worldwide. These partnerships further demonstrate the value of having economically based shared services within government.
This month, we were pleased to be a part of an incredible Diversity, Inclusion & Equity Symposium as Pete Buttigieg, the Secretary of the Department of Transportation expressed "the importance of infusing equity in all that we do." Steve Dickson, FAA Administrator reinforced the message by stating, "We are stronger, more innovative, more open and transparent, collaborative and successful when we recognize, accept and welcome the talents and experiences of our people." Collectively, it is so important to have a workforce that reflects the full diversity of the American People, and we will continue to strive for this in all of our business undertakings.
I am also excited to report that the Multi-Purpose Building renovation is still on track for completion in the Fall of 2022. The new design represents a workplace of the future, complete with workstations for teams and spaces for individually focused work. In other exciting news, the Security Command Center has a new conference room available for booking.
The results from the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (known as FedView) are in, and the FAA and the MMAC saw favorable increases in the Employee Engagement Index and the Global Satisfaction Index in spite of the fact that it was conducted in the middle of the pandemic. The agency had the highest participation rate in the survey since 2017. We showed an increase in the number of positive responses to questions in every major category on the survey. It was particularly gratifying to see the positive responses to the employee engagement index questions, AMC index score went from 69.6% in 2019 to 75.5% in 2020. This is consistent with the improvement in engagement we saw in the Q12 Employee Engagement Survey.
Our exceptional performance during the COVID pandemic reinforces that we have a committed and engaged workforce, and the surveys simply confirm this. We are also proud that our responses in the Fedview survey helped earn the Department of Transportation’s ranking of third Best Place to Work for large government departments.
Thanks for your dedication to a positive MMAC culture and to the success of our MMAC mission!
