Status Update of Environmental System Support (ESS) Construction

The Office of Facility Management (AMP) is constructing a new parking lot and sidewalks in front of Building 152 (ESS). The project includes the demolition and removal of the existing radar tower located on the South side of the building. The South entry to building 152 (ESS) will be closed for the duration of the project due to the removal of the radar tower and the demolition and installation of the new concrete entryway and sidewalks in this area. Occupants of the building can use the West and East entries. The West entry has a card reader for afterhours access. The full duration of the construction project is expected to last from May 20, 2023, to approximately July 10, 2023. The completion date is subject to change to change based on weather or other events.

Prior to beginning the parking lot construction, it will be necessary to temporarily close some parking spaces for the placement of a crane to facilitate the removal of the tower. The tower removal is anticipated to start Saturday, May 20th and complete Wednesday, May 31st. The construction of the parking lot will follow immediately after the crane removal. The contractor will be responsible for providing adequate levels of safety barriers and signage. They will also be responsible for erecting and maintaining the barriers.
