Employees Spoke – AMP Listened
Vol.9 Issue 1

In 2018, the Office of Facility Management (AMP) revamped their annual Customer Satisfaction survey in order to receive honest feedback of employees’ satisfaction regarding various aspects of physical workspace. Thank you to those of you who take the time each year to provide critical feedback. Recent feedback has turned into the projects identified below:

  • Airmen Records Building (ARB) Restroom Renovation – AMP completed these restrooms in August 2022.

  • Flight Standards Building/Restroom Renovations – Renovations were completed September 2022. Renovations included updates to the hallways, floor surfaces, and restrooms.

  • LED Lighting Replacement – AMP replaced outdated lighting with new long-lasting LED lights in Building 189 completing the efforts in June 2020. AMP is also in the process of updating the ANF-1 Building lighting which is scheduled to be completed by November 2023. These updates provide better lighting with lower energy usage and cost.

  • Headquarters Building Lobby – The HQ Building Lobby was updated to bring a more modern feel to the building and improve interior finishes. This included upgrades to the flooring and wall surfaces throughout much of the building as well as upgrades to the auditorium.

  • MMAC Tunnel Renovation – AMP began renovating the tunnel that connects the Headquarters Building (HQ), Aviation Records Building (ARB), Multipurpose Building (MPB), and Civil Aerospace Medical Institute Building (CAMI) in October 2022. Renovations will repair the concrete slab, repaint the walls, and improve tunnel ventilation. The work will include demolition of the concrete slab, installation of a waterproof coating, placement of a concrete topping slab, new textured floor coating, new wall paint, handrails, and new ventilation systems. The project is scheduled to be completed in April 2023.

  • Deep Cleaning Across the Entire Center – with COVID-19 a threat since March 2020, AMP has worked with the janitorial services contractor to ensure that COVID-related cleanings are performed in accordance with FAA requirements. Employees being in maximum telework status has also allowed AMP the ability to deep clean areas across the Center with minimal interruption to workers.

  • Additional Parking – The Systems Training Building (STB) north area gained an additional 92 parking spaces, with a total of 138 spaces. An additional 84 parking spaces were created near the True Sky Credit Union with a total of 132 parking spaces. The Logistics Support Facility (LSF) gained an additional 39 parking spaces, totaling 105 spaces with the parking lot paving project.

  • Additional AMP Action Items:
    • AMP was able to obtain a new food service provider in Blue Sky and the Technical Support Facility (TSF).
    • AMP is working with the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (OKDRS) to install card readers on vending machines across the MMAC.
    • After two long years of dealing with issues of the global health crisis, the Aeronautical Center’s Aero-Fitness Health Center has reopened under new management. All federal employees, contractors, and students are eligible to join.
    • AMP-100 Facility Services Division:
      • Will provide Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) education to MMAC employees.
      • Conducting IAQ monitoring in the top 5 buildings identified in the surveys.
      • Including IAQ as a "focus" item on the FY 2023 annual safety inspections.
    • AMP-300 Operations & Maintenance Division:
      • Creating a solution to optimize start time for pre-heating/pre-cooling buildings.
      • Upgrading the Center-wide building automation software (Metasys).
      • Investigating the set-points and actual temperatures in the top five lowest performing buildings.
      • Continuing to inspect grounds maintenance requirements including fine cut mowing, weed prevention, general maintenance of flower beds and plantings, and trash/litter removal.
    • AMP-400 Architecture & Engineering Division:
      • Reviewing past project construction duration data including a comparison of major project timeliness before and after the development of the project tracking tool.
      • Reviewing past projects and reviewing means of communicating project status. This includes project start, phasing, completion dates, ingress/egress from spaces, and/or impacts to streets, roads, and parking lots.

AMP will release another Customer Satisfaction survey in the coming weeks. Employees are encouraged to share feedback so that AMP can make the working environment as comfortable, safe, and environmentally friendly as possible.
