The Aeronautical Center’s Chapter of the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) is proud to host their 2022 Essay Contest. The competition is open to high school seniors, vocational and undergraduate college students who are residents of Oklahoma. Thanks to support from the Aeronautical Center, a total of (6) awards will be distributed. Three $500 awards will go to high school seniors and three $500 awards will go to vocational or undergraduate college students.

The topics of the essay contests are:

  • How do you feel about African American History not being mandatory for American education?
  • Why do you think it took 60 years for the Emmett Anti-Lynching Law to be passed?
  • Define and explain how you will apply entrepreneurship to your life and community?
  • Define and explain how you will apply leadership to your life and community?

Essay Rules

All entries must be received by Friday, November 18, 2022. Winners will be notified by Friday, December 30, 2022. For more information about this competition, please contact Vannice McCoy, Education, Recruitment and Training Chairperson (405) 954-3115.
