As we approach the last few weeks of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center’s (MMAC) Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), there’s still time to make a donation to one or some of the many wonderful CFC charities, to make a difference in our community, and to be the FACE OF CHANGE. The Center’s current fundraising total is $178,836 as of December 23^rd and the campaign end date has been extended to January 15^th.

Being it’s second year in a virtual environment, the campaign’s chairs have had challenges in delivering virtual activities that raise awareness of CFC charities and fundraising events. MMAC’s CFC Chairperson Debbie Uglean states, "We have tried really hard to not inundate volunteer and employee in boxes with CFC e-mails, while providing all of the information, tools, and events necessary for a successful campaign."

The Center held its second annual virtual CFC Telethon on November 17^th, which raised $24,000. This beat last year’s telethon total of $17,000. There were 283 unique visitors to the telethon, with a maximum of 107 visitors logged on at a single time. The highest point of attendance was during the managers’ pie in the face segment of the telethon. Other Center activities throughout the campaign have included monthly virtual charity fairs, volunteer opportunities, a Santa Clause Zoom event, and a virtual 5k.

Some organizations also became creative in their fundraising efforts, by hosting a pumpkin carving contest, basket auctions, a one to one hundred squares event, casual day sticker sales, CFC Agency Heroes Lunch and Learn events, and an exercise challenge.

The Center’s CFC Chair team is currently working on ideas to finish strong, meet the Center’s $245,000 goal, and wrap up this year’s campaign.
