ESC Teams Spend Time Upgrading PRISM Software
The Enterprise Services Center’s (ESC) Procurement Request Information System Management (PRISM) upgraded their commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software to version 7.4.7 over the weekend of March 12, 2021. To support ESC’s PRISM solution, ESC and Unison’s PRISM Support teams collaborated to refine the processes and tactics for success. This continuous collaboration and information sharing between these organizations ensures that deployment success is built on a foundation of release planning, partnerships, and coordination. This release consisted of multiple bug fixes and enhancements, including:
- System for Award Management (SAM) Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) – This is in support of transitioning ESC systems from using a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number to a new UEI to identify all vendors and organizations doing business with the federal government. This was included due to a General Services Administration (GSA) requirement to meet an April 2022 go-live date.
- Inter/Intra Agency Agreement (IAA) Portal to .NET – This involved changing the ports from the PRISM IAA module via classic .asp to .NET. The IAA port will include the finalized G-Invoicing data standards that will meet the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) mandate.
- Requisition for Modification (RFM) – This RFM includes several fixes to resolve issues (e.g. displaying negative numbers when adding a line item on an award).
- Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) – This involved a fix to correctly display Base and All Options value for all modifications which were not sending the correct amounts to the Federal Procurement Data System involving description updates, effective date mapping and merging of standalone FPDS mapping and pullback patches.
- DATA Act Information Model Schema (DAIMS) – This involved updates to the USA Spending DAIMS D2 Assistance Format and removing of fields that are no longer needed for the Financial Assistance Broker Submission system (FABS) reporting.
- Grants.gov – Through this website an update was added to include "Opportunity Zone Benefits" to the existing Funding Activity Category list on Funding Opportunities.
- 508 Changes – The release aided in updating accessibility requirements for information and communication technology (ICT) covered by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communications Act.
A special thanks to all the ESC Developers who put in the time and effort to add these improvements, and to provide the necessary fixes for this software upgrade. Customers may see improved results without realizing all of the work that has been going on behind the scenes.
