Love What You Do

I love coming to work each day, hearing about the fantastic work being performed by our employees at the Center. Steve Jobs once said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." The employees at the Center make it easy for me to love what I do. The most recent results of the AMC Gallup Q12 survey indicate that employee engagement has significantly improved. In fact, AMC’s Grand Mean scored in the 99th percentile when compared to other Government agencies within the Gallup Database of clients. This means that only 1% of their Government clients scored higher. AMC organizations have received the survey results for their organizations and should take time to celebrate what they have accomplished. Then the next step is to continue the momentum by taking a focused approach to developing employee engagement action plans for their teams. To assist the organizations with this, we are offering several virtual Employee Engagement Impact & Planning Sessions.

The Center continues to foster relationships with several local universities, creating opportunities for students to solve challenges that organizations are facing. Through the Center’s Capstone Program, the Center has the opportunity to tap into the creative energy of University students to develop solutions to these challenges, while helping the students fulfill their graduation requirements. Throughout the years, our relationship with the local Universities has proven to be a win-win opportunity for all involved. This year was no different, with the successful completion of a Management Information System capstone project in the Enterprise Services Center, completed by students from the University of Oklahoma. We look forward to the continued success of the Capstone Program during the 2021 fall semester.

CAMI continues to provide innovative human factors research to advance new aerospace technologies. They are currently conducting human factors research that will enable more low visibility operations by using new vision systems. Their research in the use of innovative technologies such as these types of systems are key drivers for improving safety and performance of the National Airspace System.

Part of being engaged includes feeling a connection with each other and with the community as a whole. There are exciting changes occurring in our community. The growth of Oklahoma City has resulted in the expansion of Will Rogers World Airport with new airlines, new routes, and improvements to the airport terminal. These changes will positively impact your experience while at the airport.

In addition, Downtown Oklahoma City has a new state-of-the art Convention Center located near Scissortail Park. Both the new Convention Center and Scissortail Park provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to experience our city in a whole new way.

There are so many exciting things happening at the Center and in our community. Thank you for your contributions. You truly do make it a joy for me to come to work.

Kindly,

Michelle Coppedge
