ESC Customers Receive Financial Benefit
Vol.7 Issue 3
Enterprise Services Center

The Enterprise Services Center’s (ESC) Operations and Managed Services Branch (AMK-220) have taken it upon themselves to analyze the costs and pricing of hosting data in the Enterprise Data Center. As a result, their analysis led to significant improvements in pricing for their customers, particularly in the areas of:

  • Storage Costs
Through consolidation, elimination of redundant data and compression, ESC was able to reduce costs

  • Server Capacity
Capitalizing on technology while improving pricing

  • Disaster Recovery (DR)
DR service costs were reduced due to Storage and Server Capacity improvements

Improved pricing has been applied to the FAA’s Procurement Request Information System Management (PRISM) requirements for the FY22 performance period. Subsequently, hosting prices for FAA PRISM will see a 35% reduction from a three-year average (2019-2021), decreasing costs from $1,616,516 to $1,057,117. The pricing improvements are being applied to all ESC hosted customers for the FY22 performance period. "This reduction represents a tremendous impact to the Aeronautical Center’s financial goal of saving $125M by the year 2025. To date we are just over $60M" says Kevin O’Connor, Deputy Director of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. "When we analyze processes that are part of our core-mission, and look for ways to be more cost effective – we can achieve significant results and make all of our operations more competitive," says O’Connor.

Congratulations to ESC for pushing the Aeronautical Center forward in improving operations while adding to the agency’s bottom line.
