With the 2019 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) in full swing, federal employees are more charitable than ever. Just recently, government employees from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Tinker Air Force Base and members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation decided to give back to their community, especially since the Food Bank was vital to many public servants during the last government shutdown. Working a morning and an afternoon shift, 432 federal employees volunteered at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to help others less fortunate in the community. Besides having fun, together they packed and boxed 242 tons of food!

Not all federal nutrition programs are capable of reaching everyone in need, but Food Banks help fill this gap. Every $1 gift you give, provides 8 nutritious meals. As a reminder the Regional Food Bank’s administrative and funding costs are only 4%, so 96 cents out of every dollar helps feed hungry people.

Whether you want to donate your time by pledging volunteer hours or perhaps you prefer donating to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma through CFC (#67922), both ways are beneficial in making a difference in our community.
