MMAC Employees Reinforce the Value of Working for the FAA

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce is eager to share its recruitment resources and have put together a website highlighting the benefits of employment, internships, living in Oklahoma City, housing, things to do in our city, and other resources. The Chamber explains that Oklahoma City boasts an increasingly diversified economy with aviation and aerospace making up the largest sector in both employment and economic impact. More than 38,000 jobs at more than 250 firms in Oklahoma are dedicated to the aerospace industry. The Aeronautical Center along with Tinker Air Force Base, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Kratos and Pratt & Whitney are among the major players in Oklahoma’s economy.

As a benefit to newcomers to our City, the Council for Community and Economic Research offers a Cost of Living Calculator that compares pricing information throughout the country and is updated on a quarterly basis. This tool demonstrates how much further your salary can go in Oklahoma compared to any other U.S. City. As an example, let’s say that you live in Washington D.C. and your annual salary is $70K. Research shows that your money will go further in Oklahoma City than in the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, D.C. – VA area. You can have the same standard of living in OKC for 47.77% less. To maintain your standard of living in OKC, compared to D.C. you would need to earn $36,563 more in your salary.
