Capstone Project Proves Beneficial for Government and Academia
Vol.6 Issue 1
OU and ESC Capstone Project logo.

During the last school semester in 2019, Enterprise Architects from the FAA’s Enterprise Services Center (ESC) teamed up with students from the University of Oklahoma (OU) Price School of Business Management Information Systems (MIS) Capstone team. The purpose of the University’s Capstone project was to analyze alternatives and provide recommendations for Robotic Process Automation (RPA)-centric Application Performance Monitoring (APM) software.

APM software monitors RPA services to detect abnormal processes, monitor trends, and assist with problem resolution. Members of the OU MIS team collaborated alongside with members of the ESC to develop APM requirements, and were able to identify four software applications that met those specific requirements. The MIS students presented their final report to the ESC team on November 18, 2019.

The project substantiated to federal employees the benefits of helping students better prepare for the future using real world applications. Congratulations to members of the OU MIS team: Chad Dunlop, Reid Harrington, Rochelle Marilosque, Caroline Mudd, and James Nelson.
