MMAC Shines in Award Ceremony

The FAA and in particular the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center received tremendous recognition in the DOT Secretary’s 48th Annual Awards Ceremony. The event was held on the morning of November 2nd in Washington D.C. in the Lt. General Elwood R. “Pete” Quesada auditorium. The ceremony was to honor those public servants who have performed their jobs in an exemplary manner and have produced high quality results in their jobs. Welcome remarks were provided by Gian Macone, Chief of Staff for Human Resource Management, and the presentation of colors was performed by the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard. Tim Brooks (AFS-1010) sang the National Anthem to a crowded auditorium. FAA Administrator Michael Huerta welcomed distinguished individuals and teams, expressing appreciation for everyone’s dedicated effort and hard work. All of FAA’s major lines of business were represented. As the ceremony unfurled, it was evident that employees from the Aeronautical Center clearly validate a passionate commitment to the safety of our National Airspace System. Congratulations to all of those who were recognized for their truly exceptional contributions to this agency and for aiding in safety of air travel.
