Dr. Troy Jackson Named as New TSI Director

Congratulations to Dr. Troy Jackson in being named the new Director for the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI).

Troy has vast experience in the transportation safety industry working across many modes. He has served the Transportation Safety Institute since 2002. Previously, he worked in the roles of Highway Traffic Safety Program Manager, Acting Aviation Safety Program Manager, Senior Air Safety Investigator (Instructor), and Aeronautical Information Specialist (Instructor). He has more than 17 years of experience in the design, delivery, and management of learning experiences relating to transportation safety, accident/crash investigation, and leadership. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer and a member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, who served as a C-130 instructor pilot, the Chief of Training, a Safety Officer, and an Accident Investigator. Troy, previously served as adjunct faculty at the Eastern Management Development Center for the Office of Personnel Management. He currently manages the Department of Transportation’s Leadership Development programs delivered by TSI for several modal administrations. He is a Certified Workplace Trainer in Conflict Management and a Certified Facilitator of: the Leadership Challenge®, Developing an Outward Mindset®, and Change Intelligence®. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) is a valuable tenant, having been located on the Aeronautical Center grounds for nearly 50 years. They have trained nearly a million professionals in aviation, highway, transit, pipeline and hazardous materials safety. They operate with a diligent staff of highly committed subject matter experts who serve as adjunct faculty. TSI provides outstanding training for safety professionals in federal, state and local government agencies, as well as the private industry.
