The Aeronautical Center’s National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE), Oklahoma City Chapter is continually engaged in the community. Chapter members devote their time to a variety of charitable causes throughout the year; causes such as Holiday Food Baskets, Adopting a Family, Career Fairs, ACE Academies, and many more. In 2019, thanks to several fundraisers throughout the year, the Chapter was able to support an educational project using an essay contest. Contestants were invited to submit a 500 to 1,000 word essay on one of the following topics: "Why Does Your Vote Matter?" "How Does the Second Amendment Affect You?" "The Impact of Social Media on Society," and "Black Lives Matter vs. All Lives Matter." The judges rated the essays on correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation; originality; overall quality and critical thinking.

The NBCFAE’s judges concurred that three of the contestants met all of the qualifications and each will receive a $250 award for their outstanding essays. The Oklahoma City NBCFAE congratulates this year’s winners!
