July 29 Marks Opening of MMAC’s New HQ Parking Lot
Vol.5 Issue 5
New parking lot where the True Sky Credit Union used to be located.

The anticipated opening of the Aeronautical Center’s Headquarters Building parking lot expansion is here. Final inspection was completed on Wednesday, July 24. The construction company is completing punch list items for opening on July 29.

The parking lot project followed three other projects before the site was ready for construction. The first was the demolition of Building "L" (EA Book Store). The next two projects were the remodeling of building 30 to make a new home for the True Sky Credit Union, and then demolishing the former home of the credit union (Building "K").

The new parking lot addition adds a net of 86 parking spaces to the center of the facility. In addition to the Headquarters Building, the parking lot is convenient to Flight Inspection, Air Navigationā€1, Flight Standards and the Hangar Buildings.

The A&E consultants for the project were Small Architects, Wallace Civil Engineering and Darr/Collins Electrical Engineers. Construction was completed by Rudy Construction Company. All of these companies are from Oklahoma City. The best news is that the project was completed under budget and four months ahead of schedule!
