Vol.4 Issue 6

The National Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees with Disabilities (NCFAED) is an organization that believes employees and organizations are what strengthen the FAA’s reputation for Diversity and Inclusiveness (D & I) and are deserving of recognition. An annual awards program is planned, providing a platform of transparency while inviting and encouraging every FAA employee to honor a fellow FAA employee, contractor, or a D & I advocate. For consideration, the nominee must demonstrate going above and beyond their expected responsibilities to achieve a unique FAA hiring, promotion, or advancement for those who struggle daily with a physical or mental disability.

Helen Keller’s mentor Anne Sullivan successfully overcame all physical barriers that permitted her to overcome the seclusion imposed on her by a childhood illness. So, it is with great honor and pride that NCFAED recognizes these great women for their unimaginable lifetime achievements. NCFAED intends to have their legacy continue with an annual award or awards that recognize those who share the same vitality and drive to overcome the unstoppable when faced with insurmountable odds.
