Automating the Telework Agreement Process
Vol.4 Issue 2
Telework contract

This content is specifically for all AMC non-bargaining unit employees and bargaining unit employees in the Quality Systems and Business Resources Staff, the Logistics Center, the Office of Facility Management, and the Enterprise Services Center organizations that are covered under the AFGE Collective Bargaining Agreement. This information does not apply to AMA bargaining unit employees covered under the PAACE Collective Bargaining Unit.

The FAA Human Resources Office is implementing a new automated process for the submission and approval of employee telework agreements. The new automated tool, known as ‘e-telework’ is now integrated into the CASTLE time and attendance reporting tool. The e-telework tool streamlines the submission and approval process, eliminating the need for employees to complete hard copies of telework agreements. It also replaces the digital signature forms currently utilized by some organizations and employees. Employees will now receive a notice annually from the system when it is time to renew their telework agreement. The system also allows for submission of mid-year modifications by the employee or supervisor.

Transition to using the new e-telework tool is planned to occur by March 16 for those covered employees described in the first paragraph. It is required that ALL existing telework agreements be re-accomplished in the CASTLE e-telework system and submitted to the approving supervisor, even though telework agreements may have been already recently renewed. It is necessary for all established agreements to be entered into the system. The process takes only a few minutes to enter the data required to submit a telework agreement, since many of the fields are pre-populated based on pre-existing data in the CASTLE and the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS). Employees may start entering new agreements in CASTLE using the e-telework tool immediately to ensure that all agreements are entered in the tool by March 16, 2018. Organizational telework coordinators will monitor the completion of new agreements and provide reports to supervisors on the progress being made toward full implementation. Going forward, all renewals modifications, terminations and new agreements for covered employees must be processed using the e-telework tool in CASTLE.

Feel free to contact your organizational telework coordinator should you have any questions.
