The Aeronautical Center Employee Development program (AsCEnD) Cohort 3 will launch soon. The AsCEnD program is unique to the MMAC, with a mission to broaden a participant’s knowledge of the Aeronautical Center’s mission, structure, and business activities within all organizations across the Center. The program’s vision is to develop employees as MMAC brand ambassadors while working to improve employee engagement and enhance a participant’s professional skills and self-awareness. The seven-month program consists of Center tours, organizational briefings, team building and networking activities, and professional development sessions.

According to AsCEnD program manager Debbie Uglean, program metrics reveal that 72 MMAC employees applied for Cohort 3, representing four different lines of business. Applications require management approval, and those who have been approved are currently in the scoring phase. Scoring is based solely on the applicant’s responses, and once scoring has been completed, those applicants with the highest scores will be notified of their acceptance into the next cohort. Typical AsCEnD cohorts consist of 30 members.

The next cohort can expect a few subtle changes in the program. These adjustments aim to improve certain aspects without disrupting the core structure of the experience. "I’m genuinely excited about the program’s content changes. It’s a great step forward, and I can’t wait to see all the improvements," stated Uglean.

Each AsCEnD cohort runs approximately one year, so employees who may have missed the application period for Cohort 3 should watch for Broadcast messages toward the end of 2024 for information on the application period for Cohort 4.
