E2 Implementation Team Efficiencies Decrease Costs
Vol.9 Issue 8
Double exposure of abstract digital world map and hand typing on laptop on background, research and strategy concept

The Enterprise Services Center (ESC) E2 Advance Implementation Team worked with stakeholders and customers to create a more efficient way to automate advances from the E2 travel system to the Delphi system of record. The E2 travel system allows the secure electronic processing of travel invoices, as well as creating and making travel reservations for federal employees.

Processing travel advances previously involved a manual, labor-intensive process, requiring numerous work-arounds with multiple steps to complete. These work-arounds involved the processing of paper copies through several manual steps. Once completed, another labor-intensive process was needed to reduce the outstanding advances from the final payment. All of these convoluted tasks had to be completed for over 630 travel advances each year.

Thanks to the innovation of this new automated process, the method improved the Enterprise Services Center’s ability to provide prompt and accurate payments, saving approximately $100,000 annually in labor costs.

Congratulations to the E2 Implementation Team for working smarter, not harder!
