MMAC Employees Get in the Holiday Spirit with 2023 Mingle and Jingle
Vol.9 Issue 8
Cookie Contest entries

An Employee Engagement sponsored event was held in the Blue Sky Café and the café staff prepared some extra cookies and a very popular hot cocoa and coffee bar. Employees were treated to some harmonious singing by what we are now referring to as the MMAC Choir. They sang all of the traditional Christmas songs, even the BC Clark Christmas jingle, a true Oklahoma City tradition. They mentioned that they might be available to sing at other special Center events!

A number of visitors took the opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa, hoping that St. Nicholas will deliver on their Christmas wish list! The children from the Launching Pad made an appearance and sang some songs, including an enthusiastic and highly animated rendition of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." They too, were able to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas, had their pictures taken, and took home some little presents from the Employee Engagement Committee.

The highlight of the event was the Cookie Contest. There were 25 entries in the contest representing individuals from across the entire Aeronautical Center. There were about 600 cookies, and the contest judges had to taste 25 separate cookies! That’s a lot of baked goods! Center Director, Michelle Coppedge, Deputy Director, Kevin O’Connor, and the Blue Sky Manager, Murod Mamatov served as contest judges. They were good sports, agreeing to wear some very unique and festive hats. There were some very tasty cookies and some very creative entries. Natalee Godfrey, a contract employee from AFS created little edible snow globes attached to her cookies… when you shook them there was SNOW inside! With that type of innovation and creativity, Natalee won the Most Creative category.

A complete list of all the scored winners is listed below, but every one of the entries were winners. We have some very talented bakers at MMAC! We think this contest will be repeated in the coming years, so be sure to practice your baking skills now, so that you can be ready to participate next year!

We also had tables from various CFC organizations and employee associations on display, such as NCFAED (the National Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees with Disabilities), (NHCFAE) the National Hispanic Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees, and (NAAN) Native American Alaska Native Association, and (MAPS) Mutual Aid Pledge System. All in all, it was a great way to kick off the holiday season at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center! Happy Holidays to everyone!
