Taking a step forward in the New Year of 2021, the FAA Academy is introducing a new service at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) through the Corporate Training Solutions Division (AMA-300). On December 6, 2020, AMA-300 officially initiated its unique mission of designing, developing, and delivering a full range of training solutions to FAA offices and outside government agencies through federal reimbursable agreements.

Although recently established, the Corporate Training Solutions Division is building upon a foundation of training support that the FAA Academy provides to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The first training activities between the FAA Academy and the CBP occurred in 2009. The FAA Academy started by serving Program Management Offices (PMOs) within the CBP, focusing mostly on training for the repair of surveillance equipment. "Initially, we delivered FAA Technical Operations courses to CBP maintainers working on similar technology systems," said Robby Bergt, Acting Manager of the Corporate Training Solutions Division.

When the relationship and technologies evolved, the CBP recognized the FAA Academy as a trainer of choice for personnel in the areas of operation and maintenance. The connection grew from just two offices to multiple lines of business, as the FAA Academy continued to create and convey tailored training for the expansion of education options for policy and procedures. One particular policy deliverable is Cost Wise Readiness (CWR) training, and the overall collection of coursework is still diversifying. "There are currently 18 customized courses that we instruct, and we have an additional nine courses in development," explained Bergt.

Accommodating the range of requests from a growing customer base is the foundation for forming the Corporate Training Solutions Division. "As our reputation for excellence increased through word-of-mouth, so has interest in our services," Bergt expressed. In addition to a dedicated staff for training solutions, the new division allows internal and external agencies access to an entire spectrum of FAA Academy resources and collaboration choices for development and delivery. "This is another milestone for the Academy, which speaks to our continued growth and expansion of services," said Jim Doskow, Director of the FAA Academy. "By building new customer relationships, Academy employees will also have an opportunity to learn advanced skills and better understand the inner-workings of the FAA and other federal agencies."

By virtue of the Corporate Training Solutions Division, the FAA Academy was able to reach agreements with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide their agency’s personnel with training. Next, the FAA Academy is approaching arrangements with the FAA Office of International Affairs (API).

The Corporate Training Solutions Division office is located at Air Navigation Facility #2 (ANF-2), Building 12. For more information about services that are available, please contact Robby Bergt at 405-954-4217.
