Vol.10 Issue 1

In 2018, the Office of Facility Management (AMP) revamped their annual Customer Satisfaction survey in order to receive honest feedback from employees about their opinions and satisfaction regarding various aspects of their physical workspace. Special thanks to those of you who take the time each year to provide critical feedback. Your feedback from 2023 turned into several of the projects as identified below:

  • The Air Navigation Facility (ANF-1) Lighting Upgrade – AMP replaced outdated light fixtures with new, highly efficient LED fixtures on the entire first and second floors. In addition to saving energy, the new light fixtures provide a higher quality of light in the workspace.

The Multi-Purpose Building renovation is nearly complete, as occupants are slowly returning to a newly refurbished workspace

  • Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) Renovation – AMP completed a significant, multi-year renovation of the Multi-Purpose Building, a 215,952-square-foot building constructed in 1971. The renovation included all aspects of the building including the replacement of the building envelope and replacement of mechanical and electrical systems with highly efficiency energy saving systems, creating open floor plans that provide an agile work environment for the occupants of the building while improving the building's space utilization rate by 23%.

The Base Maintenance Building had a complete renovation from its original 1963 design

  • Base Maintenance Renovation – AMP completed a major renovation of the Base Maintenance Building (BMB) modernizing the 54,288-square-foot building that was constructed in 1963. The renovation includes a new building envelope, replacement of mechanical and electrical systems with highly efficient energy-saving systems, and significant space changes which drastically reduced AMP’s overall space utilization, while improving the BMB space utilization rate by 53%.

  • Pavement and Parking Resurfacing on the North Side of Center – AMP worked with the Oklahoma City Airport Trust to repair and resurface several existing parking lots and streets located on the north portion of the MMAC.

  • Landscaping - AMP-300 installed new landscaping and seasonal plants in the Headquarters Building Plaza area and updated the irrigation system in order to preserve plants throughout the summer months. AMP-300 is also currently working on new xeriscaping improvements at the Systems Training Building, Technical Support Facility, the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute, and the Thomas P. Stafford Building. This project enhances the appearance of the building entrances and reduces water consumption throughout the growing season.

  • Deep Cleaning - AMP-300 conducted an after-hours cleaning project in seven high-traffic FAA Academy buildings. This effort included a thorough, deep cleaning of all restrooms, entryways, and corridors with minimal disruption to building occupants.

  • Janitorial Service Improvements - AMP-300’s janitorial service contractor implemented a new quality control inspection process to ensure standardized cleaning services are being maintained. The program provides deep dive inspections to help correct potential issues and aid in future training needs of each janitorial staff member.

  • Fire Alarm Tech Refresh - AMP-300 is in the process of a fire alarm system enhancement that will provide a tech refresh of our current system. The current technology has been in use for over 15 years, and the new system allows more efficient monitoring, emergency response, and notification of occupants across the Center.

  • Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Surveys – AMP-100 Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) staff conducted indoor air quality surveys at various locations across the Center. The purpose of the surveys was to follow up on IAQ issues reported during previous AMP Customer Satisfaction surveys such as odors, air quality, and dust/debris. Results were shared with the organizations and corrective actions were taken as needed.

  • Lighting Surveys - AMP-100 conducted indoor lighting surveys at various locations across the Center. The purpose of the surveys was to follow up on issues reported during the 2023 AMP Customer Satisfaction survey. Results were shared with the organizations and corrective actions were taken as needed.

  • Monroney eNews Articles - AMP-100 continues to publish a variety of news articles to address customer satisfaction survey comments, including information on MMAC water quality, testing and information on MMAC safety inspections and findings.

AMP plans to release another Customer Satisfaction survey in the coming weeks. All employees are encouraged to share your feedback so that AMP can continue making your working environment as comfortable, safe, and environmentally friendly as possible. Thanks in advance for taking the time to share your input to improve our workplace.
